The arenas and stadiums for the 2024 Olympic Games are very special, and one of the reasons for this is their backdrop: beautiful Paris.

The first on the list of arenas and stadiums for the 2024 Olympic Games is the Stade de France, which was built to host the 1998 soccer World Cup and has since hosted major sporting events such as:

  • Athletics World Cup 2003
  • Rugby World Cups 2007 and 2023
  • UEFA European Football Championship in 2016.

Since Paris was chosen to host the Olympics, thestadium has undergone work to be reconfigured for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, becoming the Olympic Stadium.

Parc des Princes

If you’re a soccer fan, you’ve probably heard the name “Parc des Princes” before. After all, we’re talking about Paris Saint-Germain’s stadium, which has been home to Champions League matches and other competitions for the French national soccer and rugby teams since 1974.

Among the arenas and stadiums for the 2024 Olympic Games, the Parc des Princes is in the 16th arrondissement of Paris and has a capacity of around 48,000 people.

Eiffel Tower Stadium

The Villepinte Exhibition Center has been transformed into a major sports facility, the “Arena Paris Nord”.

Paris La Défense Arena

The Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre has hosted many sporting events, but before 2024 it had never hosted a swimming event. This adaptation was possible due to the arena’s modular structure.

Paris South Arena

Built in 1923 to host the Paris Fair (Foire de Paris), the complex was developed to adapt to different needs. In 2024, it was transformed into an arena to host various sports and a wide audience.

Porte de la Chapelle Arena

Approximately 80% of the building’s surface will be covered in vegetation, integrating harmoniously with the parks and gardens that surround the area.

Aquatic Center

The Aquatic Center is the only permanent sports facility among the arenas and stadiums for the 2024 Olympic Games built specifically for the Paris 2024.

The Geoffroy Guichard Stadium, affectionately known as “Le Chaudron” (The Cauldron), is one of France’s most iconic arenas, located in the city of Saint-Étienne. Opened in 1931, the stadium is the home of the AS Saint-Étienne club and has a capacity of over 42,000 spectators.

La Beaujoire Stadium

Opened in January 2016, the stadium has a capacity of approximately 59,000 spectators and serves as the home of Olympique Lyonnais.

Marseille Stadium

Nice Stadium

The Pierre Mauroy Stadium is one of the 2024 Olympics’ multi-sport arenas and stadiums. Its modular design features include a number of technological innovations, such as a roof that turns the venue from an open stadium into an enclosed environment in 30 minutes.

Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium

Opened in 1990, this impressive golf facility is home to three championship golf courses, the most famous of which is the Albatros Course, known for its challenging course and its importance on the international stage.

The Golf National Area hosted the Ryder Cup in 2018, one of the most prestigious events in world golf.

Marseille Marina
