What is GTA V?
GTA V (Grand Theft Auto V) is set in and around the fictional city of Los Santos, inspired by Los Angeles and Southern California, and is one of the best-selling games of all time, receiving critical acclaim for its engaging narrative, detailed world and freedom of gameplay. But being part of the GTA franchise, it’s clear that the game also comes with controversy due to its violent content and mature themes.
How does GTA V work?
In the open world, players have the freedom to explore, carry out missions and interact with the environment in different ways. See how GTA V works:
All about GTA V: game structure
Players control three main characters (Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton and Trevor Philips) and the narrative is driven by main missions that advance the story. Missions can involve heists, chases, shoot-outs, among other activities.
Players can switch between the three protagonists at almost any time (except for specific missions).
All about GTA V: open world
The world of Los Santos and its surroundings is fully explorable. Players can drive vehicles, fly airplanes, swim and even dive.
There are also stores, restaurants, cinemas and other establishments where players can spend money earned during the game.
All about GTA V: GTA Online
GTA V includes a multiplayer mode, called GTA Online, in which you can create a unique character, customized with clothes, hair styles, tattoos and much more.
In this case, players can buy properties, such as apartments and garages, and even manage illicit businesses that generate passive income.
What is the story of GTA V?
The story of GTA V begins with a prologue, where Michael, Trevor, and another partner, Brad Snider, carry out a bank robbery in Ludendorff, North Yankton. The robbery goes wrong, Brad is apparently killed, Trevor escapes, and Michael is reported dead after being wounded and entering the witness protection program.
Years later, Michael lives in Los Santos under a new name, but his life is in ruins. He meets Franklin when he tries to recover Michael’s son Jimmy’s car, and the two become friends. Meanwhile, Trevor discovers that Michael is alive after seeing a heist on TV that resembles his old style.
The three of them start working together again, carrying out a series of robberies to make money and solve their personal problems.
Story of the characters in GTA V
Michael deals with his crumbling family, his former enemies, and pressure from the FBI (FIB in the game) to carry out operations against other criminals.
Meanwhile, Franklin tries to balance his loyalty to Michael and Trevor with his own ambitions and desire to get out of the life of street crime.
Trevor, meanwhile, deals with his perceived psychopathy and betrayal by Michael, as well as expanding his own criminal enterprises.
The plot culminates in a final big heist, the “Union Depository Heist”, where the trio steal the largest amount of money in the game’s history.
What is the objective of GTA V?
The objective of GTA V, in Story Mode, is to follow the plot of the three protagonists and carry out the main missions that advance the narrative. The idea is to reach 100% completion of the game, and to do this you need to complete the missions.
